Siberian Cranesbill (Geranium sibiricum), fam. Geraniaceae.
Perennial herbaceous plant with multi-branched, spreading or lying shoots, height up to 60 cm. Occurs in the forest along the "extension" of Alma-Atinska street, as an introduced weed. The leaves look like those of maple, but smaller. Blooms in the second half of summer, during a long time – at one moment we can observe both flowers and ripe fruits.
The infusion or decoction of the roots is used in folk medicine as astringent, wound-healing, and anti-cough remedy.
Other Geranium species – Bloody Cranesbill, Small-flowered Cranesbill, Herb-Robert.
