Berry Catchfly (Cucubalus baccifer), fam. Caryophyllaceae.
A plant of original appearance – related to other our Catchflies, but brings black fruits. It is found in humid (even waterlogged during floods) places of the forest. Young leaves have been used in Russia as a component of cabbage soup. There are data that Berry Catchfly leaves are also used as vegetable in France. Fresh herb might be applied as compress to heal blisters, and its decoction as a blood-stopping remedy.
