Begonia

Begonia, fam. Begoniaceae.
Usually grown indoors, but some species are possible to see in garden beds, where this perennial tropical plant forcedly becomes annual. To have blooming plants by May, it is necessary to prepare the seedlings beforehand. There are also tuberous perennial garden cultivars, but their tubers have to be dug out for the winter and to be stored in a room protected from frost.
Prefers partial shade and coolness. Frequent but small watering is desirable - the stagnant water is harmful for begonias.
It seems that a begonia in a room cleans the air from dust, harmful chemicals and germs. Besides, the juice of begonia has wound healing properties.
