Common Zinnia, Youth-and-age (Zinnia elegans), fam. Asteraceae.
An annual, fast-growing ornamental plant, with erect upright stems, 30-90 cm height. It blooms abundantly and long-term, from the middle of June till autumn frosts. There are cultivars of all possible colors, often combined in the same inflorescence. Zinnia is hardy against heat and bright sun, and even loves them, except the extreme drought. Its inflorescences attract a lot of butterflies and other pollinators, especially if grown in a large group.
