Rose Balsam (Impatiens balsamina), fam. Balsaminaceae.
Usually low annual plants with one stem, bloom in July on many garden beds, and also can be indoor flowers. Like the forest touch-me-not balsam, they have bursting fruits. Prefer well-moistered soil.
The plant is toxic (induces vomiting), that limits its medicinal application. Such feature is quite explainable, becuase otherwise this plant with such tender, juicy leaves would be too unprotected in nature. The juice can be used externally – for example, to disinfect wounds. Internally it is used in very small doses against kidney stones.
