Self-heal, Heal-all (Prunella vulgaris), fam. Lamiaceae.
At the start of blooming (from June), the head inflorescences can be confused at the first sight with Clover, though their appearance has a lot of similarities with closer relatives – Hedgenettle and Mint.
Self-heal is used in case of hyperthyroidism, upper respiratory tract diseases, hypertension, diarrhea, edema, exudative diathesis, thyreotoxic goiter. Despite this large number of medical applications and abundancy in the nature, not many people know anything about using this plant.
