Purple Crownvetch (Securigera varia), fam. Fabaceae.
In literature it is commonly found under an obsolete name Coronilla varia.
Grows abundantly in southern regions of Ukraine, whereas in Kyiv it is mostly found only along dry road shoulders. The pink flowers arranged into head inflorescences remind Clover, but the pinnate (not ternary) leaves do not allow to confuse them. Blooming shrubs in June look very picturesque; moreover, the inflorescences have delicate smell.
Fruits and seeds of crownvetch are used in medicine, due to cardiac glycosides content, and are toxic.
