Grows in open spaces of the forest. The flowers remind medieval helmet.
A medicinal plant. It has antiinflammatory, disinfectant, astringent, analgetic, expectorant, diuretic, carminative, antiseptic action. From ancient times, sage has been considered a treatment for infertility.
As an ornamental plant in the city, Scarlet (tropical) Sage (Salvia splendens) occurs. White and red colors of the flowers are most common.
