Spring Vetchling (Lathyrus vernus), fam. Fabaceae.
   Very colorful flower, occurs in quite remote, shady parts of the forest. The flowers change their color in sequence from purple to blue and green.
   SPring Vetchling is somewhat toxic, but it is a fodder plant for cattle. There are recipes for cooking its seeds involving long soaking, which could save some people from hunger but are still risky. Vetchling regulates heart activity, has analgetic and wound-healing action, and its juice may heal nail inflammation.
