Flixweed (Descurainia Sophia)

   Flixweed (Descurainia Sophia), fam. Brassicaceae.
Grows as a weed along the road sides. Flixweed is an anuual plant, but it may survive mild winter, after that it blooms as early as in April. The lacy foliage with bluish tint looks attractable.
The flixweed extracts have anthelmtinthic, antiseptic, astringent, blood-stopping, and wound-healing action. However, along with most Crucifer (Brassicaceae) plants with bitter taste, Flixweed is somewhat toxic, especially its seeds, so it requires proper dosage.
