Currant (Ribes), Gooseberry (Grossularia)

Currant (Ribes), fam. Grossulariaceae.
Blooms in April, and most species (Black Currant – Ribes nigrum, Red Currant – R. rubrum) are far less showy than Golden Currant (R. aureum), presented in first two photos, which fruits are also black but have long "tails" and comparatively weak smell. It occurs in the city rather rarely (that is a pity, and it would be also great to spread this beneficial plant in the forest).
Healing action, explained mostly by abundance of vitamins, is characteristic not only for the berries of currants (especially black), but also for its leaves, which can be used for fragrant tea.

Gooseberry (Grossularia) is also not often seen in DVRZ suburb. It is so close biologically to currants that it can hybridize with them.
