Sticky Catchfly (Viscaria vulgaris)

   Sticky Catchfly (Viscaria vulgaris), fam. Caryophyllaceae.
   Blooms in May and June, being recognized by resinous black glue, covering the stems of inflorescences to protect them from undesirable insects. It grows most often on the former clearings in the forest. This plant deserves being included into ornamental category.
