Field Scabious (Scabiosa, Knautia arvensis), fam. Dipsacaceae.
   Blooms in June, in sunny parts of the forest. It has antiinflammatory, insecticidal, antiseptic and "blood-cleaning" action, i.e. promotes toxins elimination. Concentrated infusion of the flowering plant is used externally for skin diseases – ecsema, psoriasis, "scab" or real scabies – hence the name.
