Siberian Peashrub (Caragana arborescens), fam. Fabaceae.
Occurs both in the forest and in the city. Blooms with single flowers. Unlike most legume trees and shrubs in Kyiv, its leaves, shoots, flowers and fruits are considered relatively safe for human or animal consumption, though still containing a little harmful components. Besides, its fruits are very tough.
Water infusion of the leaves and bark of peashrub are used against atherosclerosis, headache, liver diseases, and heartburn.
