Frogbit (Hydrocharis morsus-ranae)

   Frogbit (Hydrocharis morsus-ranae), fam. Hydrochariaceae.
A water plant, blooms in July-August with small white three-petal flowers. The existence of frogbit in our lakes can make us proud – it is known to be absent in dirty, ecologically unsafe media; also known for its ability to accumulate radioactive substances. A tincture from frogbit has sedative, astringent and antiinflammatory properties.
