Larch (Larix), fam. Pinaceae.
There are only few trees in the city and several groups in the forest. The needle leaves are much more tender than those of related evergreen conifers (since it is intended to stay alive for just half a year, compared to 2-3 years for pine and 4-5 for spruce). While young, they have rather pleasant sour-resinous taste.
The preparations from larch have sedative, antibacterial, deodorant, soothing, irritating, distracting, anthelminthic, antiscorbutic properties.
