Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare), fam. Asteraceae.
A forest plant, occurs in moderately sunny and dry places. Blooms late, mostly in the end of summer. Tansy has strong aroma, repels mosquitos and flies.
This plant is medicinal, and toxic in high doses. Its preparations are used to enhance appetite, improve digestion, for liver and intestinal diseases, bronchial asthma, rheumatism, and as anthelmintic. It is counterindicated for children, pregnant women and people with hypertension.
