Fireweed (Chamaenerion angustifolium)

   Fireweed (Chamaenerion angustifolium), fam. Onagraceae.
Grows in some open areas of the forest (it inhabits sunny clearings owing to its flying seeds). Blooms brightly starting from June. Young shoots are edible (but devoid of taste); the well-known tea made from them does not have substantial taste either.
